When sending recorded delivery, do you need to add a return address to the parcel?

With the royal mail, UK.

Will I need to provide a return address or is that just for Special delivery? When sending recorded delivery, do you need to add a return address to the parcel?
RM Postie.

Its not a legal requirement to do so but it is good practice to do so. 2 reasons why its a good idea.

1. If the receiver is not in when the postman knocks RM only keep recorded items for 7 days they are then returned to sender. If there is no return address then eventually its disposed of centrally.

2. Parcels go through machines and there is a chance, slim but still a chance, that the receivers address may be damaged - to counter this put your address on the inside of the packaging.

3. Recorded items is not a guaranteed service so having a return address helps in case of a dispute.

BTW recorded items are not a guaranteed or a tracked service, its a signature on delivery only, and the compensation limit is 拢41 so I highly recommend if what your sending is worth more then opt for "Special Delivery"When sending recorded delivery, do you need to add a return address to the parcel?
It is an ITU rule.

Put both; the Destiny address and also put the ORIGIN address.
