i am waiting for a parcel from the us and on the parcel force tracking system it says awaiting customs charging!

Hi, it must be the duties and taxes you were referring to. I assume freight cost was shouldered by the shipper, however, shipping costs payment will depend on your agreed shipping terms. If it's a door to door, then the shipper should advise you if you need to pay for the duties and taxes, most forwarder paid this costs in advance and just billed the recipient, but with some, charges are inclusive of the item's total price. - Who is responsible for paying the customs charges, is it you or were they included in the shipping price from Parcel Force?



After customs have received the import duties and taxes from either yourself or Parcel Force, they release the parcel for delivery. The length of time that takes depends on which airport / port the parcel is at, and to where in the UK (I assume) it is to be delivered. Shot in the dark anywhere between 1 - 3 days probably.
